You should wait 7 days following your test to contact the practice for the results. This gives the doctor chance to look at, and report on the outcome of your test. You can telephone the surgery 01132305055 Option 2, between 9 am and 3 pm Monday to Friday where the staff will be able to give you the information that the GP has provided. You can also see your results on line if you have on-line access to the NHS App https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/about-the-nhs-app/ or one of the other on-line services available.
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results and will not be able to give you your results so please don’t go through to appointments for this service.
Unless specifically requested to do so by the doctor, please don’t make a routine appointment to get your test results – the Enquries staff will inform you if the doctor has asked to see you again.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
Please note that results for X-rays and Ultrasound examinations can take 2 weeks to be returned to the GP.
If your hospital consultant has requested the tests, you should contact the hospital for results.
