Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS)
Meanwood Group Practice are delighted to now be offering an extra FREE NHS service linking in with Community Pharmacies to connect patients who have a minor illness called the Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS)
As well as referrals from general practices, the service takes referrals to community pharmacy from NHS 111 (and NHS 111 online for requests for urgent supply), Integrated Urgent Care Clinical Assessment Services and in some cases patients referred via the 999 service.
The CPCS aims to relieve pressure on the wider NHS by triaging patients through a series of medical questions, and then connecting patients with a community pharmacy within 2-3 hours, to deliver a swift, convenient and effective service to meet their needs.
The CPCS provides the opportunity for community pharmacy to play a bigger role than ever within the urgent care system.
Hearing and Balance Service
This new service compliments our Ear, Nose & Throat service.
The Hearing and Balance Service provides hearing aids to patients from across the city who are referred to us by their GP. We provide hearing tests and hearing aids at the same appointment in most cases and a full package of after-care.
NHS Health Checks
If you are aged between 40 and 74 yrs you are eligible for an NHS Health Check.
The Check consists of completing a questionnaire and booking an appointment with one of our health care assistants who will take your bloods and check your blood pressure (you can book your appointment using the online services or by telephoning reception). We will send you a text with a link to the questionnaire and appointment booking when you are due for your free check up.
Contraceptive Services
Please note that where there is a need for emergency contraception, and there is no appointment available, you should tell the receptionist the reason for your request and she will fit you in to see the doctor or nurse

For general contraceptive services, oral contraception (“the pill”), or condoms, you do not necessarily need to see the doctor and you can make an appointment to see the nurse who will be able to give you advice and an appropriate check- up and prepare a prescription.
ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat)
The practice provides a specialist service for Ear Nose and Throat as part of a community outreach service. Three ENT consultants from LTHT work in the community and patients are referred to the service from across the city. Dr Sanjeed Chida is our GP with a special interest in ENT.
